Takaful IKHLAS Spends RM20,000 For Senior Citizens Programme

KUANG (SELANGOR), Feb 23 (Bernama) -- Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd spent at least RM20,000 to implement the Sri Tanjung Senior Citizens Programme, as part of its corporate social responsibility.

The vice president of Corporate Communications of Takaful Ikhlas, Raihan Rahim said the expenditure included the costs of medical examination and purchases of essential items.

Raihan said the objective of the programme was to inculcate a caring attitude among the youths and the elderly so that they would feel they were appreciated and needed by society.

"Under the programme, the senior citizens at the welfare homes would undergo health checks carried out by KL Heartcare and fully funded by Takaful Ikhlas," he told reporters here.

Meanwhile, Abdul Shukur M.Zain, KL Healthcare Business Development director, said the health examinations carried out included full blood and physical check-ups.

The health report would be given to the management and the KL Healthcare would recommend an appropriate doctor where necessary, he said.
