Takaful Ikhlas Donates RM50,000 Business Tithe To MUIS

KOTA KINABALU, April 23 (Bernama) -- Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd Chairman Sharkawi Alis today donated RM50,000 business tithe (zakat) for the 2011/2012 financial year to the Sabah Islamic Religious Council (MUIS) Deputy Chairman, Aspah Abdullah Sani.

The money will be distributed to the zakat beneficiaries in the state.

Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin, his wife, Toh Puan Norlidah Jasni, Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) Chairman Tun Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid, PNB President and Chief Executive Tan Sri Hamad Kama Piah Che Othman were present.

Earlier, Hamad Kama Piah accompanied Juhar to the Malaysia Unit Trust Fund Week 2012 exhibition at the Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex in Likas, near here.

Takaful Ikhlas Executive Vice-President (Business Operations) Wan Mohd Fadzlullah Wan Abdullah said the money would be disbursed to the needy who are zakat beneficiaries.

"The alms giving is one of the ways to inculcate the virtues to help one another and to the underprivileged to ease their financial burden," he said in a statement.

Started operations on July 2003, Takaful Ikhlas is a subsidiary of MNRB Holdings Bhd. It is an investment holdings company listed on Bursa Malaysia Main Board, with PNB as the major shareholder through Amanah Saham Bumiputera scheme
